Welcome to the NEW KCGS WEBSITE!  We are so excited to have a new website that we feel is user-friendly and hopefully you will feel the same.  Please let us know if there is something you would like to see on this website and we will review your ideas and try to implement as many as we deem viable.

Ancestry® Announces Virtual Memorial Day “Parade of Heroes” in Honor of 75th Anniversary of the End of World War II

Many of us will honor our family and others who served in the military this Memorial day, but may be restricted under our current circumstances.
To help Americans commemorate Memorial Day from home this year, Ancestry®, the leader in family history, announced today it will host the “Parade of Heroes,” a virtual event which will stream online Monday, May 25 at 11 AM EST (8 AM PST) on Ancestry’s Facebook Page via Watch Party. Emmy Award-winning television personality Kathie Lee Gifford will host the show, with a special guest performance by two-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Tori Kelly.

Clay Center, Kansas

The Kansas Council of Genealogical Societies 46th Annual Genealogy Conference

co-sponsored by the Clay County Historical Museum

BETH FOULK will be our featured speaker.

Beth has turned a lifetime genealogy passion into an opportunity to share what she’s learned with genealogists across the country.

She has documented her Civil War, War of 1812, and Revolutionary War ancestors. She has mapped the migration of her Kansas and Missouri pioneers, and researched the arrival of her many Massachusetts Colonial settlers. Each ancestor and each story quickly became a “teaching moment” for her classes.

“The only thing more fun than a genealogy find is sharing what I’ve learned to help other genealogists,” she says. Beth Foulk first taught as a volunteer at the Midwest Genealogy Center in Independence, Missouri since 2008.

You will learn many practical pointers and useful ideas for your own research!  Check out the Conference tab for the registration form!!
